The Villa
Nestling in the hills north of Faro in a beautiful, peaceful setting, Casa da
ti Portelo is full of Portuguese charm. Originally a small farmhouse, it was converted some 10 years ago and has since undergone further extension to enhance the living accommodation.
The villa is conveniently located, being only a 20 minute drive from Faro airport (car hire is essential) and less than 30 minutes from some of the
Algarve's famous sandy beaches and golfing resorts, but at the same time occupies a very tranquil position with uninterrupted views over a valley cultivated by olive and almond groves and to the hills beyond.
The nearest village is Azinheiro which has a small café and grocery store and is within easy walking distance from the villa. Only 5 minutes drive away is the historic town of Estói, famous for its Roman Ruins, where most food essentials can be purchased. Well-stocked supermarkets can also be found in the area, which are no more than
10/15 minutes drive away.
The villa, which is family owned, has been converted both sympathetically and to a high standard. The accommodation is on 2 floors and consists of a well equipped kitchen,
lounge/dining room, 3 bedrooms (suitable for 1 to 2 families or 6 adults), 2 with en suite bath/shower rooms and a further family bathroom.

Outside there is a large terraced area surrounded by elegant balustrades, which
contains a good-sized swimming pool (9m
x 4m) with Roman-style steps leading down to the shallow end. There is also a brick built BBQ and a new semi-circular patio area ideal for “al fresco” eating, all within a pretty walled garden containing local plants and trees. A Portuguese-style, arched veranda, that leads from the lounge/dining room through large French windows, offers shade during those hot mid-summer days. There is plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture both for sunbathing and dining.
On booking the villa, you will be supplied with a comprehensive document incorporating detailed information on the villa itself, on how to reach the villa from the airport, the location of local supermarkets, information on weekly food and craft markets and details of good local restaurants. There are also maps showing the location of the best beaches and golf courses and other attractions such as water parks for children.
The property is cared for by our local English managers who will normally visit you on day 1 or day 2 of your holiday to ensure you have settled in and to answer
any questions on the villa that you may have. They are also on call to take care of any little problems that you may experience during your stay. The swimming pool is cleaned
twice a week and a maid service is offered weekly. You will find a welcome pack
of food at the house upon your arrival.
Casa da ti Portelo is a delightful villa that enjoys a totally unspoilt, secluded and relaxed location, away from the crowded towns along the Algarvian coast, but close enough to the beaches and other attractions of the Algarve to keep you busy by day, should you so wish.
